Terms and Conditions
TagVeil
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ('Terms') govern your use of TagVeil (the 'Service'), operated by DW & MP MARKETING LTD ('we', 'us', 'the Service'). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
This Service is built around pseudonymous participation: you do not register with your real name or an email address, and other members never see your real identity. Section 2 explains what that pseudonymity does and does not cover — in particular, Section 3 explains what we, as the operator of the Service, are able to see even though other members cannot. You should read both sections before registering.
2. What pseudonymity means on this platform
When you register, you choose a username and password. No email address or real name is collected at registration.
- Within each Space (community) you join, you can choose to be given a separate display name, specific to that Space. You may use a different name in each Space you belong to.
- If you opt into Search (our member-matching feature), you are given a further, separate pseudonym used only within Search — this is not shown alongside your Space names.
- Other members can never see your real name, your username, or which of your other names or Spaces belong to the same person as any name they can see — unless you choose to tell them yourself.
This is the protection pseudonymity gives you from other members and the public. It is not the same as protection from us, the Service operator — see Section 3.
3. The limits of pseudonymity — what we can see
We want to be direct about this, since it's easy to assume 'anonymous' means anonymous to everyone, including us. It does not.
- Every name you have ever used on the Service — in every Space, and within Search — is linked, in our records, back to the single account you registered with.
- Everything you post — topics, replies, and private messages — is stored in readable form and can be traced back to your account username by us.
- When you successfully log in, we temporarily record the IP address that login came from, linked to your account. (We do not record IP addresses for failed login attempts, for simply browsing the site, or for any other action — only for a successful login.)
- If you do not log in for 30 days, your IP address is permanently deleted.
We do not collect your real name, your email address, or any government-issued identifier. But within what we do collect, your activity on the Service is not separated or siloed from your account — an administrator with access to our systems can, if required by law, see the full picture of one account's activity across the whole Service.
4. Data we collect and retain
In addition to what's described in Section 3, we collect and retain the following, where you choose to provide it:
- Account details: your username, a securely hashed (not plaintext) copy of your password, and a securely hashed copy of your account recovery code.
- Profile details you choose to add: gender, age, height, build, general location, a personal statement, and any 'Values' or 'Interests' tags you select.
- Your membership and display name history in every Space you join, including names you have since changed.
- Content you post: topics, replies, and private messages.
- Your connections and match-related activity, if you opt into Search.
Because there is no email address on file, there is no way for us to send you an account-recovery link. When you register, we provide a username and recovery code file that you can download. If you lose access to your account and did not save your recovery code, the account cannot be recovered.
5. Why we retain this data — safeguarding
We retain the data described above, including successful-login IP addresses, so that if a serious safeguarding concern or abuse report is made about the Service, we are able to investigate it properly and, where legally required or otherwise appropriate, provide relevant information to law enforcement or another appropriate authority.
This is a deliberate design choice, not an incidental side effect of the software — the Service is built to protect your identity from other members, while still allowing us to meet our safeguarding responsibilities as the operator.
6. When your data may be disclosed
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with other members beyond what you choose to reveal yourself. We may disclose information described in Section 4 in the following circumstances:
- Where required by law, a valid court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority.
- Where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a member or another person, or to respond to a genuine safeguarding concern.
- Where necessary to investigate suspected abuse, harassment, or a breach of these Terms.
7. Account security and recovery
You are responsible for keeping your password and your downloaded recovery code safe. Because there is no email address on file, your recovery code is the only way to regain access to your account if you forget your password — we have no other way to verify your identity or reset it for you.
You should not share your account, your password, or your recovery code with anyone else.
8. Member conduct
TagVeil is created for people who wish to share and communicate with others, but who feel uncomfortable in revealing their true identity.
If you register for and use this Service, you are agreeing that you will not use it to harass any person, for hate speech or for any kind of illegal content.
If you breach these Terms your content (e.g. Topics and Posts) may be removed or your membership may be subject to suspension or termination.
Every topic and post within a topic thread can be reported by clicking on the flag icon ![]()
The Administrator will immediately be notified by email, will review the report and take action as necessary.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by providing a notice on the Service, and by the date of last revision shown below.
